Team embracent take on Y3P to raise money for Ashgate Hospicecare

by | Jul 14, 2021

On September 25th 2021 over 20 members of the embracent team will be walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to try and raise over £2500 for Ashgate Hospicecare, the charity providing compassionate and specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire.

CEO of embracent Mark Lockton-Goddard says

”We are delighted to be able to help Ashgate Hospicecare – they provide an amazing service to those most in need, and we are excited to support them in any way we can. Whilst walking almost 25 miles, over 3 mountains and across 5200ft of ascent, may be hard work – it does not compare to the incredible effort, compassion, care and attention that Ashgate gives to all of their patients, every day of the week.”

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With less than 3 months to go, the embracent team have been busy getting their hiking boots on training and virtually supporting one another to conquer the challenge!

Matt Corbishley, Director of People & Performance at Ashgate Hospicecare, said:

“I’m both delighted and touched that the team at embracent have chosen to support Ashgate by completing the Y3P Challenge.  Mark and the team have been absolutely fantastic in supporting our digital transformation and now they are literally ‘going the extra mile’ for us and our patients.  Working with partners and suppliers who share our values, as embracent do, is incredibly important to us.  The money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of our patients and their loved ones and I wish them the very best of luck!”

With COVID-19 increasing the demand for specialist nursing and medical care, every £1 donated to Ashgate Hospicecare makes a huge difference and we are delighted to do our part to support the organisation. Please click here to donate to our Team page.
